Based in San Diego, Potentia Tutor was created for families who are exhausted, overwhelmed, and ready for real change. We specialize in helping children and teens with ADHD grow academically, build confidence, and develop real independence — through personalized coaching, tutoring, and strategies built specifically for the ADHD brain.

I'm a behavior coach, academic tutor, and ADHD advocate with a deep personal understanding of what it feels like to struggle — and what it takes to transform that struggle into strength. I built Potentia Tutor for every child who just needs someone to truly believe in them.

Every strategy I use, every session I design, and every conversation I have is rooted in three core beliefs.
Before I teach a single skill, I help children understand their own worth. Confidence isn't built on performance. It's built on self-acceptance. That is always where we start.
When a child understands how their brain works — without shame — everything shifts. I use that understanding as the foundation for every strategy, system, and skill we build together.
Children don't open up to coaches they don't trust. I build genuine relationships first — and let the growth follow naturally from that foundation of safety and belonging.
I walked into college carrying a whirlpool of uncertainties. I felt adrift — weighed down by loneliness and the daily challenge of managing my own ADHD. What felt like a maze with no exit turned out to be the path that led me exactly where I was meant to go.
By the end of my first year, something shifted. I saw myself in the children around me — the ones who felt misunderstood, overlooked, and labeled. I realized my struggles weren't a limitation. They were my greatest tool. My ADHD wasn't holding me back — it was giving me a perspective no textbook ever could.
My loneliness gave me an understanding of connection. My challenges gave me empathy. And my journey gave me a mission — to be for other children what I wished someone had been for me.
Today I bring over 15 years of professional experience, a Master's in Clinical Psychology, and a deeply personal understanding of ADHD to every child and family I work with. I don't just teach strategies. I build belief.
I know what it feels like to sit in a classroom and feel like everyone else has a manual you never received. I know the frustration, the shame, and the constant feeling of being "too much" or "not enough."
But I also know that beneath every ADHD diagnosis is a child with extraordinary creativity, depth, and potential — who simply needs the right person to see them, believe in them, and show them how to harness what makes them different.
My work is grounded in both deep academic training and over 15 years of real-world experience with children, families, and schools.

Erin connected with our daughter during the introductory session and provided more strategies and tools to her and us than we received during a year of counseling sessions and teen support group meetings. She has a natural ability to talk to children and teens — but most importantly, to be heard and understood.
Our 12-year-old son typically refused tutoring. But with Erin, he feels comfortable and actually attends. She is patient, doesn't give up when he struggles, and finds creative ways to engage him. She is kind, funny, and makes learning fun. We highly recommend her!
Ms. Erin's vibrant energy and determination to support children is unmatched. She has been such a positive support for our son and for us. She is our go-to when we are lost as parents. Our son absolutely adores her — without even knowing what he is working on because she makes it so fun. We consider her relationship with our family one for a lifetime.
Before Erin started working with me I was in and out of the mental hospital. I had no boundaries and didn't know how to process emotions. When I first started working with her I didn't see a point — but she found a way to really get through to me because I could see she genuinely cared. She taught me how to have a purpose and a positive outlook. I raised my grades and actually passed school instead of dropping out. She helped me appreciate myself and learn better ways to cope. I would 100% recommend her to anyone.
